The program was implemented during the 2023-24 academic year, with the Science Department initiating a student exchange skill enhancement plan in collaboration with other institutions. BSc Physics students were selected for training at Cherpulassery College of Science and Technology. The Practice
As part of a course-centric initiative, nine Physics students attended a workshop titled “LED Making” at CCST College, Cherpulassery, on 15-11-2023. The onsite training included two sessions:- Theoretical Observation
- Practical Implementation
Evidence of Success
The participating students learned testing and troubleshooting of components and equipment. They gathered materials required for LED making, installed components, and tested accuracy levels. The products were successfully calibrated, and students manufactured the desired number of 5-watt and 9-watt LED bulbs.Problems Encountered and Resources Required
The absence of accurate testing devices may cause instability in achieving optimal performance. Additionally, there are challenges in procuring raw materials according to the specified configuration and obtaining product certification and sales authorization.Institutional Distinctiveness
Earn and Learn
Our institution is committed to supporting students who are eager to earn while learning. Unlike other colleges, our unique time schedule sets us apart by allowing students to balance academic and professional pursuits effectively.
Meeting educational expenses can be challenging for many economically disadvantaged students, often leading to dropout cases among capable learners. To address this, our college operates from 9:00 AM to 1:45 PM, providing ample time for students to pursue part-time jobs or enroll in certificate and add-on courses after classes.
Students can explore various earning opportunities such as working at stores, restaurants, supermarkets, or showrooms. They may even venture into starting their own small-scale businesses. These experiences offer valuable life lessons and practical exposure to workplace culture, real-time business operations, and industry dynamics.
Engaging in part-time work helps students enhance critical skills like leadership, communication, and teamwork. Those free from class hours can gain hands-on experience, fostering personal and professional growth while broadening their understanding of career environments.
Our institution believes that with effective time management, students can achieve an excellent work-study balance. This approach not only supports their financial needs but also empowers them with a stronger sense of purpose, preparing them for a successful future.
